Using the horse and its environment, we provide equine assisted activities for people with a variety of special needs. The mission of the Challenged Champions Equestrian Center, inc is to enrich and change the lives of children and adults with special needs through facilitated equine activities.
Services:
Here at Challenged Champions we offer four types of services: Equine Assisted Activities & Therapies, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Special Programs and Horses for Veterans
Programs:
Physical & Occupational, and Speech Therapy
Challenged Champions now offers an outpatient Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapy Clinic for clients. Clients and their therapists are able to utilize both our gross motor and sensory room to enhance their therapy experience. Physical and Occupational Therapy services use traditional based treatment methods along with specific equine movements to address functional therapy goal as a part of a patient’s integrated plan of care.
Equine Assisted Activities & Therapies
Equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) are any specific center activity, such as therapeutic riding, mounted or ground activities, grooming, etc. in which participants, volunteers, instructors and horses are involved.
Challenged Champions has several available options for EAAT classes including group lessons, private lessons and horse/stable management lessons. The sessions range from seven-ten weeks in length and give the participant a one-hour lesson each week. Group lessons are limited to no more than four riders per class, which allows the instructor to work with the needs of each participant accordingly. Private lessons and horse/stable management classes are offered on an as-needed basis.

Cost:
Group lessons – $20.00 per lesson
Private or horse/stable lessons – $25.00 per lesson
